Maria Herminia Vazquez de Ruiz, 92, of Sunnyside died Friday, April 18, 2008, at home with her family.

She was born in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico and lived in Michoacan, Mexico.

She was a woman of prayer.

She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved to cook for the family and watch the news. She enjoyed visits from family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Salvador Ruiz Guzman of Sunnyside; her children, Socorro Bazaldua of Sunnyside, Benigno Ruiz and Benjamin Ruiz, both of Prosser, and Gonzalo Ruiz of Los Angeles, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Elias Ruiz.

Viewing will be held today, April 21, 2008, until 8 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with a Rosary to be held at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser, with burial to follow at Prosser Cemetery.

Valley Hills Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
