Arlene Thelma (Berg) Bair, 92, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 19, 2008, at Cascade Vista Convalescent Center in Redmond.

She was born April 18, 1916, in Hodges, Mont. to Anna and Swen Berg. She was baptized in Hodges and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in Estherville, Iowa.

She attended elementary school in Hodges and graduated in 1934 from Glendive High School, Glendive, Mont. She achieved her teaching certificate in Billings, Mont. and taught in the rural schools of Wibaux County.

Arlene's joy in life came from her Lord, her family and her music. She served her church as an organist, choir director and member.

She is survived by her sister, Lucille Baumgardner of Wausau, Wis.; her three daughters, Linda (Noel) Koss of Woodinville, Iris (John) Lamont of Polson, Mont., and Bonnie Miller of Spokane Valley; a son, Vernon Bair of Seattle; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bair; one son, Joseph Lee; and one grandson, Eric Koss.

Viewing will be held Friday, April 25, 2008, at 11 a.m. for family and close friends at Valley Hills Funeral Home, 345 N. 11th Street, Sunnyside. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 1 p.m at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sunnyside.
