Child abuse awareness events

A huge thank you is in order to all who helped out during the Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness and prevention events that the Sunnyside office of the Division of Children & Family Services held during April in recognition of National Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month.

Events were held at Grandview McClure Elementary School, Mabton Artz-Fox Elementary School and the Sunnyside Community Service Office. The turnout to all the events was great. Parents received very important information regarding child abuse and neglect, information from Lower Valley Crisis Center and information on becoming a foster parent.

A thank you is also in order to the staff at Sunnyside Community Service Office. During all four events they helped us out tremendously. Thank you also to Just Ask Rentals for the donations they helped us with.

Children's Administration provided free Kidsafe Ids to a total of 261 children and parents during the four events that we held.

We are very grateful that we are able to provide such events in all three communities we serve, and look forward to doing this again next year.
