David Graff, 83, of Spokane died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008.

He was born in Lincoln, Neb. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He lived in Montana and Washington states and then Portland, Ore., where he worked in the shipyards. After the service he returned to Washington state and worked his first job with Matt Kegele Orchards. He then worked 40 years in construction, moving and seeing most of the 50 states. He did some logging and retired from Graff and Sons Construction in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons, Tom Graff, David "Bun" Graff and Michael Graff; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors in Yakima. A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery.
