Juanita C. Navarro, 48, of Grandview went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 18, 1960 in Cueramaro, Gto. Mexico to Fransico and Juana (Campos) Prieto. At an early age she moved with her family to Sunnyside. She received her education in Prosser and Sunnyside.

On November 13, 1978, she married David Navarro in Prosser. Following their marriage they lived in Sunnyside and she worked for Independent Foods and Johnson Fruit.

She was an active Christian and attended the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church in Sunnyside and Albenecer in Grandview. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, exercise workouts with her husband, eating out and church activities.

She is survived by her husband, David Navarro of Grandview; three daughters, Crissy Navarro, Crystal Navarro and Amy Navarro, all of Grandview; two sons, Michael Zuniga and Jaylen Navarro, both of Grandview; her parents, Francisco and Juana Prieto of Sunnyside; eight grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Prieto of Sunnyside; and one brother, Jerry Prieto of Sunnyside. She is also survived by many, many friends.

Funeral services were held today, Dec. 8, 2008, at the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church in Sunnyside. Burial will be in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
