Ethel DeGood, 100, of Prosser died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 in Prosser.

She was born Nov. 23, 1908 in the Horse Heaven Hills area near Prosser. She grew up in Prosser and was the first Miss Prosser in 1929.

She was a homemaker. She and her husband lived in Wenatchee, Coulee City, Yakima and moved back to Prosser in 1970. She celebrated her 100th birthday at Sheffield Manor on Nov. 23, 2008.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lenore Donaldson of Prosser; nephew, Michael Peterson of Packwood; and nieces, Bonnie Shannon of Stites, Idaho and Janet Stinchfield of Condon, Ore.

Memorial services and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
