BICKLETON - Bickleton's Lady Pirates varsity basketball team defeated Riverside Christian's JV team at home last night, 44-27.
The win improved Bickleton to 5-0 on the year.
It wasn't until the fourth quarter that Bickleton gained a healthy lead, according to Bickleton Athletic Director Tom Whitmore.
Going into halftime, the score was 19-13 in Bickleton's favor.
"They did some full court press and we struggled with that," said Whitmore. "But we were also able to score."
Whitmore said the Lady Pirates also struggled last night with turnovers.
When it came down to the fourth quarter, with Bickleton up by only six, the Lady Pirates readied for battle.
"In the fourth quarter, our fast-break was working very well for us. I'd say that was the turning point for us," Whitmore said. Bickleton scored 18 points in the final quarter to Riverside Christian's seven.
Bickleton's Caitlyn Clinton scored 35 of Bickleton's 44 points and finished the night with 14 rebounds and seven steals.
