Vicente Morales Soria, 96, of Mabton passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 5, 1911 in Valle Santiago Guanajuato, Mexico to Francisco and Manuela Jimenez Morales. He was raised along with his three brothers; Leon Soria, Ramon Soria and Refugio Soria.

Vicente worked as a baker in his early years and also on the railways in Wisconsin and Illinois. In his later years, he worked as a farm laborer.

He enjoyed gardening, reading the Bible and baking mexican sweet bread.

Vicente loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Carlos Soria (Paula), of Mabton, Susie Cervantes and Nancy Cervantes, both of Toppenish, Francisco Soria (Diana), of Yakima, Jose F. Soria and Ernesto Soria, both of Grandview, Vicente Soria, Juana Torres and Isabel Mirelez, all of Sunnyside; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Sirilo Soria; one granddaughter, Adela Soria; and one sister, Adela.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 5 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
