John Walter Williamson, 84, of Redding, Calif. passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008.

He was born Dec. 15, 1923 in Buehl, Idaho.

In 1944, he dedicated his life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In 1976, he worked for Carnation, delivering milk to residents all through the Valley. He had also worked for C.M. Holtzinger Fruit Company, Inc. for eight years. He farmed a cherry orchard in Grandview from 1972 to 1989.

He built a house in Yakima and was a hard working man all his life. He was also known by many in the Valley.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret; his son, Grant and wife, Amy, of Sunnyside; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren including granddaughter, Katie Nicholas and great-grandson, four-month-old, Colson of Zillah.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marjorie Ann; three brothers, Tommy, Jess and Travis; and one sister, Bina.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.
