BICKLETON - Last night Trout Lake/Glenwood traveled to Bickleton for the second of two games postponed earlier in the season.
The Lady Pirates battled hard, according to Bickleton Coach Tom Whitmore, making the game a closer match-up than that of last Saturday night, but still fell 50-42. Last Saturday, Trout Lake defeated Bickleton by a 76-38 score.
He said the downfall of the Lady Pirates came in the third quarter.
"We couldn't get a shot to fall...which could have given us some momentum had we been able to score," Whitmore explained of the two points garnered in the third quarter.
He said he was impressed with his team's full-court press, saying it was very good and the Lady Pirates exhibited patience. They forced Trout Lake into throwing some bad passes "...and quite a few travel calls."
Whitmore also said Trout Lake ended up in foul trouble during the game, giving Bickleton opportunities in the fourth quarter.
Bickleton's Katelynn Clinton snatched 12 boards for the Lady Pirates, scoring 17 points.
Phylicia Pearson scored 10 points in the game, with nine boards, and Marie Macias earned seven rebounds.
Stealing the ball nine times for the Lady Pirates was Star Kibby, who also provided five assists for the night.
Bickleton (3-7, 9-8) will travel to Toppenish tonight for its final league match-up against Yakama Tribal.
