What an entertaining night of talent at the Sunnyside High School auditorium on Saturday evening, Jan. 19! The leadership class, under the leadership of teacher Dave Martinez, should be commended for planning, preparing and producing a very entertaining event to benefit Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
Event coordinators Megan Tyler, Cassie Herndon, Aarika Hernandez, Janelle Mendoza, Jamie Zijlstra and Molly Dolan should be commended for their efforts, as well as Megan Razey for stage management, and others in the leadership class who assisted in stage setup, lights, ticket sales and handing out programs.
Students provided 20 very entertaining acts, all deserving our applause for supporting their community in this way.
We thank, also, those businesses that provided raffle items.
Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, the benefactor of the talent show, appreciates the leadership class designating the proceeds of $3,047.68 to assist our families, friends and neighbors in Yakima and Benton counties in providing a very specialized, end-of-life care. We give a big thank you to our community for supporting both Lower Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, and our students by attending an event that demonsrates students' willingness to serve.
Thank you! Thank you!
