Knights repeat as 1B State champs

KnYAKIMA - The can-do cowboy, freshman Ryker Van Belle, hit the shot heard 'round the 1B world this past Saturday. The seldom-used underclassman hit the winning three-point bucket in overtime to give the Sunnyside Christian boys their second consecutive 1B State basketball title in a 38-37 finals victory over Tekoa-Oakesdale.

Pit bull mix attacks, kills five hogs at Sunnyside farm

Sunnyside's Paul and Anna Warmenhoven's five, 300-pound pigs were just a week away from slaughter when the unthinkable happened. An area rottweiler/pit bull mix got into the pig pen and attacked all five, leaving one dead and the other four seriously maimed.
