Roy Harold Chandler, 86, of Grandview died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008.

He was born Nov. 29, 1921 in Indianola, Iowa, the son of Ray and Mamie (Crooks) Chandler. He served in the Army Air Corps and received an honorable discharge following his military service.

On June 16, 1943, he married Lillian Eloise Lane in Yakima.

He is survived by one son, Robert Dean Chandler of Grandview; two daughters, Shirley Mae Marchbanks of Springfield, Ore. and Judith Ann Van Atta (Dennis) of St. Paul, Ore.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Harriette Conner of Chariton, Iowa, June (Bob) Seuferer of Lucas, Iowa, Vera (Dick) Black of Los Fresnos, Texas, Joanne (Ron) Parker of Campbell, Calif. and Jennie (Bob) Shanks of Johnston, Iowa; one brother, Jay (Naomi) Chandler of Chariton, Iowa; and three sisters-in-law, Shirley Chandler, Donna Chandler and Lucy Chandler, all of Lacona, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lillian Eloise Chandler; and three brothers, Albert Chandler, Lemley Chandler and Vern Chandler.

Memorial funeral services and military honors will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the Sunnyside First Christian Church.
