Arnold Abercrombie, 81, of Toppenish died Monday Jan. 28, 2008, at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1926 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Thomas D. and Alice Abercrombie. He was raised and educated in White Swan.

He worked as a ranch hand for Harry Kent and Ed Hanson.

He is survived by three daughters, Julia Hart of Sunnyside, Peggy Randall of Goldendale and Tina Schooley of Granger; three sons, Harry and Everett Abercrombie, both of Toppenish, and Gary Knight of Everett; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Abercrombie of Waller, Texas; and one sister, Leola Hill of Appleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Larry, in 1995.

Visitation will be held today, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in Toppenish. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park, west of Wapato.
