Donald Ross "Don" Myers, 73, of Outlook died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Yakima.

He was born Nov. 18, 1934 in Outlook to Mark William and Marion (Chambers) Myers. He was reared and educated in Outlook and graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1953.

He married Virginia Janice "Jan" Gramm on Jan. 13, 1956 in Sunnyside.

He worked for 30 years for the Yakima County Highway Department as a road grader operator. He also worked many nights and weekends at a service station until he started Don's Handyman Service which he ran continuously until he recently became ill.

Don was a member of the Sunnyside Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Sunnyside Lions Club, and a life-time member of the Outlook Grange, having served as master.

He loved to hunt and fish. He and his family went on many camping trips and later enjoyed a trailer on Williams Lake near Cheney for vacations.

He is survived by his wife, Jan, of Sunnyside; a brother, David, of Metaline Falls; his children, Diane (Lee) Lutovsky of Bothell, Joann (Doug) Cardwell of St. Maries, Idaho, Sandra (Rick) Standley of Yakima and Chip (Kyla) Myers of Pflugerville, Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James and Richard Myers.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at noon at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Don Myers memory be made to the American Lung Association or to a charity of donor's choice.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
