Dave Leo Stark, 72, of Prosser, died Friday, July 11, 2008.

He was born July 19, 1935 in Big Timber, Mont., to Jay Byron and Guinevere (Horton) Stark. He received his education in Sunnyside, graduating with the class of 1954. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Following his military duty he returned to the Yakima Valley and worked on various dams on the Columbia River. He later worked at the Hanford Project until retiring in 1994.

On May 29, 1958, he married Ruth Chase in Sunnyside. They farmed in Outlook for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Stark of Prosser; two sons, Dan Stark of Prosser and Lyle Stark of Kent; one daughter, Sandra Stark of Lynnwood; two grandchildren; and one sister, Billie Bekel of Montana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert Stark.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008, from 3 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, July 16, 2008, from 8:30 to 11 am. with services to follow at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
