Lawrence E. (Larry) Voss, 66, of Ritzel passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Ritzel Veterans Home.

He was born April 17, 1942 in Yakima to Beulah and the late Bernard Voss. In 1956 the family moved to a farm in Outlook. After high school he went into the Army and made a career as a helicopter maintenance officer W03, serving two tours in the Vietnam conflict.

He was into camping trips with his sons and gave them his wry sense of humor. They were very proud of his military service.

He is survived by his mother, Beulah Voss of Sunnyside; ex-wife, Anna Voss of Mercer Island; two sons, Tony (Marybeth) of Mercer Island and Jerome (Valeena) of Everett; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Ron (Donna) of Lacey and Jerome (Cathleen) of Wyoming; three sisters, Barbara Baumiester of Moxee, Nancy Long of Montana and Margaret Voss-Mohrman (Pat) of Illinois; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Voss and both sets of grandparents.

A time of gathering and dinner will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the VFW on North Ave. in Sunnyside.

Memorials may be made to any VFW in Larry's name for use for other veterans.

Please RSVP to Ron Voss at (360) 280-1075 or email
