Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Josephina C. Saldaña, 63, went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father, Monday, June 23, 2008, following a long battle with cancer.
She was born June 22, 1945 in Kyle, Texas to Sivino and Josefa Castillo.
She married Martin C. Saldaña Jr. in Willington, Texas. The Saldañas moved to the Yakima Valley in 1968. She worked and enjoyed being a cook for 34 years at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Grandview. She cherished time spent with her family, beautiful flowers, going to the beach and traveling with her husband, Martin, in his 18-wheeler. She was a member of the Grandview Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by two gracious sons, Maurisio Saldaña (Cynthia) and Martin Saldaña III (Laura), all of Grandview; three loving daughters, Mariselda Morales (Ruben) and Malinda Mora (Joe), all of Grandview and Margie Olivas (Manuel) of Selah; 14 grandchildren, Ruben Jr., Andrew, Adam, Maurisio Jr., Mathew, Maximino, Marlena, Joseph, Phillip, Manuel III, Josclyn, Martin IV, Brittney and Isacc; five great-grandchildren, Destiny, Ava, Shuanti, Isaac and Chloe; one sister, Janie Castillo of Texas; six brothers, Sivino Castillo Jr., Guadalupe Castillo, Robert Castillo, Michael Castillo and Juan Castillo, all of Texas and Daniel Castillo of Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Martin Saldaña Jr. in 2007; two brothers; and father-in-law Martin Saldaña in 2008.

Viewing and visitation will be held today, Wednesday, June 25, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Graveside burial service will be Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 9 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery with a memorial funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. at Grandview Church of the Nazarene.
