Christian women throughout the world will be gathering in their communities to celebrate World Day of Prayer tomorrow, March 7.
In Sunnyside, a prayer gathering will be held at the United Methodist Church, located on the corner of East Edison Avenue and South Ninth Street. The doors of the church will be open to all who wish to participate in praying from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Those praying are encouraged to become aware of worldwide needs, become enriched by the faith experience of others, take up the burdens of others to pray with and for them and to become aware of their own talents, using them in service of society.
"God's Wisdom Provides New Understanding" is the theme of World Day of Prayer 2008. Christian women in more than 170 countries and regions will be gathering to seek the wisdom of the Lord, providing a unified front of prayerful action.
