Bruce Allen Brown, 52, of Sunnyside died on Monday, March 10, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Bruce was born Nov. 7, 1955 in Yakima to Curtis and Jean Adams. During his childhood, Bruce resided in England, Florida, Germany, and Idaho, before moving to the Yakima Valley in 1971. Bruce graduated from Davis High School in 1973. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1974 to 1977.
He worked for Kenyon Cold Storage in Grandview for many years. Bruce married Cathy Miles on July 22, 1994 in Sunnyside, where they resided.
Bruce loved to fish, golf, camp, and travel with his wife.
He was a member of the Grandview VFW.
Bruce is survived by his wife Cathy Brown of Sunnyside; one son, Christopher Davis of the Tri-Cities; two daughters, Melissa Swearengin of St. Helen, Ore. and Kimberly (Jose) Noyola of Selah; a step-son, Kevin (Alice) Hurst of Grandview, and seven grandchildren; two sisters, Lugene (Ed) Borba of Coulterville, Calif. and Terry (Roy) Greenfeather of Warsaw, Mo.; two brothers, Harry (Joyce) Adams of Elizabeth, Pa. and Michael (Lisa) Adams of Grandview, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
