Catalina S. Sutton, 87, of Grandview, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Grandview Health Care Center.

Catalina was born July 9, 1920 in the Philippines, the daughter of Tomas and Juana (Caluggan) Sutton. On Feb. 14, 1949 she married Robert Orlando Sutton in the Philippines, later returning to Sunnyside in 1950. Catalina worked at the Toppenish Hospital from 1971 to 1983 as a registered nurse. She was an active member of the Church of God in Sunnyside. Catalina cherished time spent with her family. She also enjoyed her dogs and spending time outdoors camping.

Catalina will be remembered as an amazing woman.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Bobby) Sutton of Grandview; one daughter, Erlinda (Carlos) Soliman and a son-in-law, Leonardo Mendoza, all of Sunnyside; step-daughter, Helen Gonzalez; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Orlando Sutton; grandson Robert Soliman; daughter Herminia Mendoza; and two brothers, Jose and Angel Santos.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 24, 2008, at 11a.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
