H. Lorraine Padelford, 89, longtime Sunnyside resident passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.
She was born Dec. 23, 1918 in Ironwood, Mich. to Harry and Sally (Jokela) Anderson. She received her education in Prosser and graduated with the Prosser High School class of 1936.
On March 7, 1941, she married Earl Manley Padelford. Following their marriage, they traveled while Earl was enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge from the Navy, they moved to the family farm on Sheller Road where they made their home.
Lorraine's family always came first; she was a very hard working mother and housewife. She enjoyed dancing at the Waneta Grange and to Lawrence Welk in Chicago. She also enjoyed time spent with her friends, Dorothy and Bennie Pederson.
She is survived by her one daughter, Patty and Jim Bailie of Pasco; three sons, Mike and Lyn Padelford of Spokane Valley, Don and Colleen Padelford of Sunnyside and Stewart and Clare Padelford of Prosser; eight grandchildren, Zane Padelford, Scott Paxton, Brooke Godwin, Jaime Flanigan, Kimen Padelford, Kristi Raines, Michelle Marshbanks and Layne Padelford; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Padelford; her parents; one brother, Donald Andersen; and one sister, Grace Brisson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the East Prosser Cemetery in Prosser.
