Juliette W. Towner, 73, beloved mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.

Julie was born Jan. 11, 1935 in White Bluffs to Herman and Lina Kilian. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1953. She moved to Spokane and attended Kinnman Business School.

She spent her career working for SCAFCO Corp. She was a long time member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She loved to play games including bridge, dominoes, baseball, mahjong and many others. She was involved in the duplicate bridge group. She enjoyed many summers of gardening and tending her flowers.

Through the years, she was always present at her grandchildren's sporting activities and school events. She was a very cheerful and loving woman. She had a beautiful laugh that brought smiles to people's faces.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Skow (Gary); sons, Kenneth Towner (Karen) and John Towner (Connie); grandchildren, Kenny Towner, Jennifer Aga (Brian), Steven Towner, Stephanie Towner, Suzanne Towner and Ryan Towner; her brothers, Herman (Joanne) Kilian, Win (Leona) Kilian and Ervin (Sharon) Kilian; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind numerous dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Lina; two sisters, Lina and Marie; and brother, Fred.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd., Spokane.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Hennessey and Smith Funeral Home in Spokane is in charge of arrangements.
