Sponsored by the Nouvella Club with Rita Blunk as chairperson, the American Red Cross blood drawing held on Nov. 4 was a great success.
We were so pleased to have exceeded our goal of 68 units. We had 83 presenters and six first-time donors. Six were deferred, leaving 77 units collected. Because of their generosity, 231 people will have another chance at life.
Special thanks to the sponsors for the juice, delicious home-baked cookies and cheese and crackers, to United Methodist Church for the use of its hall, to Max for displaying the banner at Centennial Square and to the Daily Sun News for the excellent publicity.
And then there are the volunteers who services are always appreciated: Myrtis Lang, Ella Mae Lochner, Alice Benedetti, Phyllis Morris, Donna Kendall, Deborah Clark, Theresa Wiggins, Betty Brown, Willi Walli, Carolyn Gardner and Mabel Kluth.
A very special thank you to the donors, who turn out to give the gift of life.
Please join us at the next blood drawing on Jan. 6 at the United Methodist Church hall from 1 to 6 p.m.
