'Silent hero' stories inspiring

I have been following the recent "Salute to Heroes" articles in the Daily Sun News and the Grandview Herald these past few weeks. In reading these stories, I was compelled to write this letter to express my gratitude for what these service people have given to our "Great Country."

I know a lot of the servicemen and women who have been featured in the stories, but I never knew of their injuries and the sacrifices they made to keep us free and safe. These people have truly been silent heroes because they served our country, and nothing was ever written until now.

What great articles and great timing, because it's never too late to thank someone!

As for me, I can't even begin to express how proud and grateful I am as I read these articles, because these stories are about people I know.

In closing, I want to challenge the rest of our community to reach out and thank these "silent heroes" for the huge sacrifices they have given for our freedom.

Thank-you to all of our veterans.
