I am a resident and business owner in our community here in Sunnyside. I am taking action to drastically reduce and end the gang violence in our community, our most current and serious threat to our health and welfare.
Our children and our residents are under siege. Our investments and businesses are suffering. We have good decent people moving out of our community to protect their children, and we have employees who won't live in this community due to the threat. It is time we took back our streets and schools. We are in a war.
It takes money to fight. We have an organization to use to educate the community, establish programs to reduce the gang activity and administer those programs.
I am representing Sunnyside's Promise, an organized 501(c)(3) corporation in Washington. Its federal identification number is 91-2144572. This organization is currently being revamped to focus on reducing the gang activity as its main focus. We have some sponsors that are pledging to partially fund our activities but we urgently need some immediate funding to continue in operation until these large sponsors get organized.
I'm asking you to search through your budget and find us some help. We need this help yesterday. Help us because you need income tax deductions or help us because you want publicity or help us because you want to live, work and do business in a safe community. Whatever is your reason, you'll get all of these things with your contribution.
Bell & Bridges, CPAs is helping. The city of Sunnyside is helping. The Sunnyside School District is helping. Sunnyside Community Hospital is helping. The Sunnyside police are helping. Many people and organizations are helping, but it is not enough. We need you and your organization to join us now.
I don't make a habit of asking for money, but this is an emergency. How many of our kids have to get gunned down in broad daylight before our community takes action? I believe that one is too many. We've been too complacent. We are already losing kids and we have lost our security.
Help us take back our streets and schools. Help us bring more businesses and employees to our community. Help us raise our property values and tax base. Help us be more financially stable. You are a part of our community. The gang problem is cost you money already, but you may not have realized it. Help us solve this problem. Reach out to your company headquarters. Inform them of our community problem. Please send us some money soon!
You can mail contributions to: Sunnyside's Promise, P.O. Box 1087, Sunnyside, Wa. 98944.
