'Walk of Life' raises $15,000

On behalf of the family of Keith Morris, I would like to express my sincerest appreciation and thanks to all those who participated in the "Keith Morris Walk of Life" event held on April 11 at Mabton High School.

Because of everybody's hard work, planning, volunteer work, and financial contributions, we were able to raise more than $15,000 for pancreatic cancer research.

No matter what the circumstances may have been, this was quite an accomplishment. However, knowing that a 12-year-old boy, Wayde Morris, Keith Morris's grandson, was able to plan and organize this (with help of course) makes it that much more special.

Several hundred people from around the state participated in the event. The event lasted four hours. In addition to raising the money for cancer research, the athletic fields were also dedicated in honor of Keith Morris on the same day. The Morris family would also like to thank all those involved in making that happen as well.

Again, thank you to all those involved. It was quite a moving experience seeing such a small community come together to work towards a common goal, which was met. Thank you all.
