Weighing in on a bag of poo

Ok, I can't help it-I've just got to weigh in on this bag of poo business.

For those of you who don't know, a Yakima area teacher sent home a bag of poo with a five-year-old for having an accident at school. With that little pearl, she also sent a note, "This little turd was on the floor in my room."

I believe KIMA broke the news, but at some point, CNN posted the story on its website.

It goes without saying that it was a disgusting thing to do, but something here stinks and the general public in the blogosphere isn't focusing on it.

KIMA's news report doesn't say definitively whether or not it was the little boy's accident.

Supposedly, the father was called by the teacher, who complained that her classroom was stinky and she queried the dad as to whether or not the son might have had an accident.

What if it wasn't the boy's accident? What if it was someone else's?

Everyone who's had something to say about it seems to be totally missing the point that the boy was never actually accused of having an accident.

She sent human waste, riddled with nasty bacteria, home in his backpack without knowing whether or not it was his. Worse yet, she handled it.

My hope is that the teacher will be reprimanded, and part of her punishment will include undergoing training, at her own expense, from the Department of Health about infectious diseases.
