Charles Dean Hollingsworth, 57, of Sunnyside passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009.

He was born Sept. 12, 1951 in Sunnyside to Audrey and Martha (Burwell) Hollingsworth.

He received his education in Sunnyside and graduated with the Sunnyside High School class of 1971.

Charlie served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974. Charlie worked as the dock supervisor for Snokist in Grandview for 10 years, then later as a bartender at the Pub Tavern and also the Sports Center.

He enjoyed watching Nascar auto racing, the Seahawks, the Mariners, the Blazers and playing fantasy football.

He was a member of the AmVets.

Charlie is survived by two sons, Chris Hollingsworth of Sunnyside and Chad Hollingsworth (Tammy) of Grandview; two grandchildren, Cara and Andrew Hollingsworth; and his aunts and uncles, Norma and V.L. Hall, Ralph and Ellen Burwell, Dot Beck and Bob Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Carolyn Schutte.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
