Janice (Jan) Illeen Eastridge, 71, of Castle Rock passed away at her home on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, after a long battle with cancer.

Jan was born Sept. 13, 1938 in Yakima to Morley and Ann Kerr. She had an exciting start to life, born in a car enroute to the hospital. From there she never slowed down.

She attended school in Sunnyside. She married Robert Eastridge in 1955. They settled in Kelso, where they raised their family. Jan and Bob had four sons. Their second son, Terry Lee passed away at the age of three months.

Jan loved gardening, canning vegetables, baking, shopping at garage sales, sewing and doing home improvement projects. Most of all, she loved her family. She was very involved with her grandchildren and spent much time with each of them over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her mother, Ann Kerr; her children, Jim (Debbie) Eastridge of Castle Rock, Mike (Jody) Eastridge of Battle Ground and Terry (Vicky) Eastridge of Longview; two sisters, Shirley (George Price) Colley and Sandy (Mike) Burrows; a brother, Marvin (Joyce) Kerr; her grandchildren, Eddie Eastridge, Alan (Hope) Eastridge, Shaun Eastridge and Molly Eastridge; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her father, Morley Kerr; one son, Terry Lee; a grandson, Bobby Jo; and a sister, Nila Simmons on Nov. 17, 2007.
