Chances are, he'll be checking his list twice this coming Saturday to see who's been naughty or nice.
Santa flies into Sunnyside on Saturday and, along with head elf Suzie, will be greeting and meeting local youngsters.
The Sunnyside VFW has arranged for Santa's visit. All local youngsters are invited to share a breakfast meal with the jolly old man from the North Pole. Afterwards, he'll spread holiday cheer by presenting each child with a small gift, as well as a bit of sweetness. The youngsters will also be offered the opportunity to have their photograph taken with Santa.
Adding to the holiday fun will be a coloring contest that all youths are invited to participate in. Youngsters, too, will be invited to take part in an arts and crafts hat-making program.
Sunnyside-area families can take in all the fun at the Sunnyside VFW post hall on Saturday for the nominal fee of just $5 per child. The breakfast meal with Santa will be served from 9 a.m. to noon.
"The parents of the children can stay and eat breakfast, too," said VFW spokesman Nellice Johnson.
For youngsters to be included in Saturday's fun, their parents must call the VFW no later than this Friday, at 837-3482 to reserve a spot at Santa's breakfast table. The VFW post, located at 615 North Ave., is open to receive the calls after 3 p.m.
