Mirum Jenene Munson, 72, a former Grandview resident passed away on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in Prosser. Jenene was born April 6, 1937 in Caldwell, Idaho, the daughter of Elmer Ellis and Anna Elvira (Connet) Harper.

She married John Henry Munson on June 6, 1958 in Wapato.

John served in the U.S. Air Force, allowing the Munson family to travel and live throughout the world. After John's retirement from the military the Munson family made North Pole, Alaska their home and later moved to Anchorage, Alaska. In 1990 John and Jenene moved to Grandview.

John passed away in 1996 and Jenene continued to make Grandview her home until moving to Sun Terrace in Prosser in 2008.

Jenene enjoyed crafts, ceramics, square dancing, camping and family reunions.

Jenene is survived by two daughters, Cathy Miller (Bob) of Fairbanks, Alaska and Cheryl Munson of Yakima; one son, Michael Munson (Cindy) of North Hollywood, Calif.; one brother, Jerry Harper; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Joe Harper.

Memorial funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Those wishing to sign Jenene's online memorial book may do so at
