QUINCY - The Lady 'Hounds fell last night to Quincy, 56-55.
The first half of the game was neck and neck, with Grandview up by two points going into halftime. They lost what little lead they had in the third quarter when Quincy scored 15 points to Grandview's eight.
In the fourth quarter, Grandview Coach Paul Van Pelt said, "We clawed our way back. We had the ball down three with 17 seconds left and had our play, but couldn't convert so we had to foul."
Jessica Lopez tallied a team-high 16 points for Grandview and had three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Teammate Jessica Hall scored 10 points, had five rebounds and two assists.
"We just didn't come out with the aggressive mentality to compete with Quincy," Van Pelt said.
Quincy's Lopez sisters did the bulk of the scoring for Quincy. Most of their shots came from inside the key.
"That is what hurt us tonight, the two Lopez sisters getting anything they wanted in the key."
Grandview (1-3, 2-4) next treks to Ephrata Jan. 8.
