OBITUARY

GRACE THOMAS

Grace (Irene) Thomas, 87, beloved mother, grandma and great- grandma went to be in the arms of her Savior, Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009.

She was born on Oct. 6, 1921 in Sunnyside to Joseph and Millicent (Crewse) McDaniels. She received her education in Sunnyside.

On July 2, 1937, she married Frank Thomas in Prosser. Frank and Irene made their home in Sunnyside where she worked for Hickenbottom, Mojonniers and later for Gerald D. Williams until she decided to retire at the age of 82.

She attended the Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church. She enjoyed yard work and would never walk passed a weed without pulling it. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or holiday, it was remembered with a special card and a little cash. Her handwriting was beautiful, family and friends received letters often.

She is survived by one son, Donald Thomas (Linda) of Longview; two daughters, Wilma Tabor (Douglas) of Pasco and Beverly Thomas of Sunnyside; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Earl McDaniels of Outlook and Elmer McDaniels of Bend, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank who passed away in 1982; four brothers; and two sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, from 1 to 6 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
