Yakima County firefighters dealt with two fires yesterday, Wednesday.
Crews from Yakima County Fire District No. 5 Station 12 responded to a fire on First Avenue in Outlook at 3:49 p.m. The fire caused about $8,000 in damages to a room and its contents. The 12 county and five city firefighters that responded had the blaze under control in 10 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Another fire in the 1200 block of Alexander Road caused approximately $12,000 in damage. Approximately 25 firefighters from county stations 13, 14 and 15 had the fire under control within two hours.
The shop fire is believed to have been started by a wood burning stove.
