Bickleton's Lady Pirates defeated Yakama Tribal this past Saturday night, wrapping up the regular season with a 45-31 win.
The win didn't come without challenges.
"We played really slow the first half," said Bickleton Assistant Coach Kim Clinton. "We came out in the second half and played man to man and picked up the pace."
Lady Pirate Katelynn Clinton lead her teammates in scoring with 24 points, four assists and by notching 14 rebounds.
Teammate Starr Kibby scored eight points and tallied six steals. Nakai Kibby scored six points, Dani Raschko scored four points and Alejandra Molena scored two points and grabbed 12 boards. Morgan McBride scored one point.
Friday night, the Lady Pirates (4-4, 11-7) traveled to Klickitat and lost 47-34.
"Going into this, we said they'd have to beat us at the three-point line and they did," said Clinton, adding that Klickitat scored six three-pointers.
Bickleton's goal for the night was to shut down Klickitat's Samantha Brewer and Kali Fargher.
"It went really well. We held Brewer to two points until the fourth quarter," said Clinton. At that point, Katelynn Clinton got subbed out and Brewer went on to score 10 more points.
Clinton finished the night with 10 points and 24 rebounds. Raschko scored eight points and Starr Kibby scored 10. Lady Pirate Aymie Osborne chipped in four points, and Nakai Kibby scored two points.
Bickleton will now go into Districts as the No. 4 seed and will square off against Sunnyside Christian this coming Friday in Zillah.
