It is with profound sadness that Victor Garcia and Celina Rodriguez announce the passing of their beloved and never to be forgotten son, Elijah Nathaniel Rodriguez, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at the tender age of four.
Elijah was born Oct. 21, 2004 in Vancouver. He was the oldest of his siblings, which he would protect. He was very bright and smart, nothing would bring him down, he was always happy.
Although our special angel was in our lives for a short time, he was adored and loved by so many.
His favorite color was green. His favorite cartoon was Kung Fu Panda; he was the Dragon Warrior and his father was Master She-fu. Elijah was a fighter with no rules, but he was always the winner! He loved wrestling. His favorite wrestler was John Cena. He enjoyed wrestling, with his cousin Lover acting as Bautista and Grandpa Will as Big Show, his brother Daryk as Rey Misterio and father as Matt Hardy. In doing this he enjoyed spending time with them and winning them. He also loved watching Sponge Bob and George Lopez. He also would change his clothes four times a day.
He left us to be with our Lord. He will be our little angel watching and taking care of us and his family. He will be greatly missed.
Elijah is survived by his parents, Victor Garcia and Celina Rodriguez of Sunnyside; two brothers, Daryk and Noah; one sister, Tiarra; his grandparents, Will and Dana Jackson of Vancouver, Abel Rodriguez Jr. and Raul and Martha Macias, all of Sunnyside; great-grandparents, Mary and Tony Campos and Santos Perez Medina, all of Sunnyside, Aurora and Abel Rodriguez Sr. of Mabton, Wilma and Mike Morea of Longview, Teresa Valenzuela of California and Jesus Martinez Sr. of Yakima; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great great-grandmothers, Cristina Martinez in 2007 and Juanita Flores in 1982; and great great-grandfathers, Bernardo Flores in 1989 and Alejandro Martinez Sr.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his godparents, Corina Martinez and Genero Garcia.
Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Apostalic Church in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
