Sunnyside police raced to the 1200 block of South 14th Street at 12:38 a.m. this morning when it was reported a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at a house.
Police say three adults and two children were sleeping at the residence when someone threw the explosive device at the home, igniting a 1989 black Nissan Maxima and a bedroom window of the residence.
All the occupants of the house were able to safely escape and no injuries were reported.
Police estimate damage to the vehicle at $2,500 and another $500 for damage to the bedroom window, a curtain and some bedding.
No suspects have been named at this time but police do believe the incident is gang related.
