Valentine's Day tragedy claims two lives in Granger

GRANGER - Early this past Valentine's Day at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Granger Police Department was alerted to gunshots at the Circle Inn Tavern.

Officers responded to the call early Saturday morning to find a female victim, Eliva Antunez Roman, 49, of Granger, who had died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Witnesses told Granger police the victim's boyfriend was the shooter in the incident, but he had fled the scene.

He has been identified as Salvador Ramirez, 64, of Granger, and was later found at his home with a gunshot wound to his head.

The Granger Police Department believes Ramirez's gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Police officials do not know what led to the shooting and an autopsy of both Roman and Ramirez will be scheduled at a later time.
