Perales agreement tabled by city council

MABTON - The Mabton City Council tabled an agreement with former Mabton Police Chief Robert Perales at last night's meeting.

The agreement states that for the sum of 20 hours of pay, approximately $470, Perales will settle his claims with the city.

Perales filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the city when the city council eliminated the funding for his position in December, which put Perales out of a job.

The council needed to request more documents, according to the Washington Cities Insurance Authority, and is expected to make a decision at the next council meeting.
