OBITUARY

RANDY EUGENE DALTON

Randy Eugene Dalton, 51, loving husband, father and friend ended his long battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord, Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009.

He was born on July 29, 1957.

He was known to his family and friends as a gentle giant, he surrounded himself with his family, his children, his pets and projects. He loved children and dedicated much of his time to that end. He crafted children's furniture and toys from wood and sold or donated them state wide. Many of the neighborhood kids would see his creations of wood and stop by to try them out with his nephews and nieces. On many occasions his yard was filled with children full of excitement playing with his creations.

Randy was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends as well as strangers and expect nothing in return. The satisfaction of having done something good that helped someone out gave him a great deal of satisfaction and joy.

When not creating things from wood, he loved to go camping and fishing with his family and friends. There was never a body of water that wasn't calling to Randy, inviting him to test his luck and skill to catch the "Big One". He was always willing to try. Even if no fish were caught, he enjoyed himself by sharing the time with others or just soaking up the beauty of nature.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Theresa; two sons, Samuel Dalton and Daniel Dalton, both of Sunnyside; his parents, Charles and Luella Dalton of Lakebay; one sister, Victoria Bruhn (Rick) of Sunnyside; two brothers, Rick Dalton (Pam) of Grapeview and Ron Dalton (Donna) of Lakebay; his grandfather, Clair Sterett of Yakima; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Randy will be deeply missed by all who knew him and remembered every time a child plays with one of his toys or catches a fish.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 1051 Alexander Road, Sunnyside. A potluck will be held at Sunnyside Eagles following the memorial service.
