MABTON - Mabton's Trishi Williams led the Lady Vikings to a 61-24 win over the Cle Elum Warriors last night, Tuesday.
"She just had an overall strong game for us," said Mabton Coach Chris McCallum of Williams' 15 points, seven steals, seven rebounds and six assists.
Things didn't go so swimmingly for Mabton's Ana Jimenez, who was felled by injury in the third quarter. "I might've lost her for the year, I'm not sure yet," McCallum said. "We're hoping for the best."
Of last night's game, McCallum said, "It was a pretty balanced attack. Every single one of my girls that played last night scored."
Prior to her injury, Jimenez scored 11 points. Teammate Crysta Reynolds scored five points and had nine rebounds. Melissa Gutierrez scored 12 points and had six assists. Cassandra Martinez scored seven points for the night and teammate Kayla Campbell scored four points. Brizi Enriquez scored three points and Teri Flores and Mia Rochoa each scored two points.
Mabton had a strong first quarter, scoring 19 points and holding the Warriors to four points. They fell flat in the second quarter, scoring nine points to Cle Elum's two points.
"I think the girls lost a bit of intensity after that first quarter," McCallum said.
Mabton (4-1, 11-2) bounced back in the third quarter, scoring 24 points to Cle Elum's 11.
Mabton next plays against Naches at home this Friday.
