Bickleton's Lady Pirates defeated Yakama Tribal in a 68-34 blowout win this past Friday night, only to fall to Trout Lake Saturday 48-39.
"It's a building year for (Yakama Tribal)," said Bickleton Coach Ric Palmer of his team's 34-point victory.
Lady Pirate Catelyn Clinton led the way Friday night, scoring 30 points for Bickleton. Teammate Starr Kibby contributed 16 points.
In Saturday night's game, the Lady Pirates focused on staving off Trout Lakes Liz Vogt, but that seemed to pave the way for teammate Katie Yarnell, who scored 32 points for the Mustangs Saturday night.
"She probably had the game of her life," Palmer said of Yarnell. "And we didn't. I just couldn't get her shut down."
Vogt, however, was held to only six points in the game.
Two key post players for Bickleton, Clinton and Dani Raschko, fouled out.
Clinton scored 24 points against the Mustangs, had 16 rebounds, two steals and three blocked shots. Bickleton (2-3, 9-4) finished the night with 15 steals against Trout Lake.
