Jack LeRoy Tuttle, 83, of Grandview died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at his home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1925 in Grandview to John and Myrtle Tuttle.

He served in the U.S. Marines from 1944 to 1946.

On June 17, 1992 Jack married Frieda Hessler in Reno, Nev.

He owned and operated Tuttle Trucking for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frieda Tuttle of Grandview; his siblings, Delbert Tuttle of Concrete, Wesley Tuttle and Dorothy Ackzinger, both of Yakima, Barbara Hiber of Olympia, Shirley Bahr of Seattle and Lyle Tuttle of Spokane.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, July 5, 2009, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Military graveside services will be held Monday, July 6, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mount Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, Ore. 97086. Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
