Sandy and I are writing to thank the many friends in Sunnyside and elsewhere who have given us their concern and love during our time of struggle and pain. We are fighting the dreaded disease of cancer, which was a shocking diagnosis delivered to us after Sandy's successful back surgery on May 27.
Our friends helped ease the pain and shock of the diagnosis, and their concern and love sustains us as we endure the treatment prescribed.
Sandy has received remarkable medical treatment from the Cancer Care Alliance and from the University of Washington hospital during our visits/treatments there, and from Sunnyside Community Hospital during the follow-up/post chemotherapy cycles.
As with other patients, the regiment of fighting cancer gives us good and bad days. Please be patient and keep in contact...we will get you updates as much as possible when we can.
We appreciate the visits at the university hospital and at our home. The flowers, greeting cards and messages are welcomed and are the highlights that bring joy and tears to Sandy. Thank you for your help with our home upkeep.
Thank you again for your prayers and for the special love that Sunnyside has given to our family. They sustain us, give us hope and the courage to return to you whole.
