Keith W. Morris, 62, of Grandview passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his home.

Keith was born on June 22, 1947 in Spirit Lake, Idaho to Hollie and Altha Morris.

Keith attended Grandview High School, where he graduated in 1966.

After graduation, he attended Central Washington State College, where he graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and physical education. He continued on to receive his Masters Degree in school administration.

Keith married Bonnie L. Beck on Aug. 7, 1971 and they moved to Warden. They had three children, Brian, Jennifer and Chad.

While in Warden, Keith was employed by the Warden School District as a teacher, counselor, coach, and vice principal for 13 years.

In 1984 Keith and family moved to Mabton, where he was employed by the Mabton School District as a principal.

Keith Morris had the honor of serving the Mabton Community for 23 years. While there, he was named Washington State Small Schools Principal of the year, along with many other notable educational accomplishments. One of his most notable was helping lead Mabton to become recognized as a "National Break-Through High School".

After Keith retired in 2006, he created his own consultant business, where he traveled to several states assisting other schools in improving educational leadership and instruction.

Keith Morris greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, which were many. Some of his favorite pastimes were coaching, golfing and bowling.

Early on in life, Keith developed a love for fishing. He frequented Twin Lakes with his brothers and later in life enjoyed spending time at his brother's cabin at Twin Lakes with his close family and friends.

Most importantly, Keith and Bonnie enjoyed spending time and creating memories with their six grandchildren. On many occasions they spent time on the Oregon Coast.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Bonnie; son Brian (35) and his two children Ashley (14) and Hunter (8); daughter Jennifer (35) and her two children Wayde (12) and Tanner (6); son Chad (32) his wife Jane and daughter Kali (9) and son Christian (11). Keith's surviving siblings are Gordon, John, Donald, Clyde, Sharon Highsmith and Jim.

Keith was preceded in death by his younger sister Sandy; his father Hollie; his mother Altha; his sister Joy; and one brother Kenny.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Nazarene in Grandview, with a reception to follow immediately.

In an ongoing effort to continue his commitment toward education, Keith requested that instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following: Dollars for Scholars/Keith Morris, c/o Greg Hurn, P.O. Box 363, Mabton, WA. 98935.
