The Grandview Police Department served an arrest warrant here in Sunnyside yesterday, Thursday, at about 8 a.m. in connection with a stolen property probe.
According to police, a search warrant was obtained in an effort to search a West Edison residence and three arrests were made, that of a 30-year-old male, 26-year-old male and 26-year-old female.
Police say they recovered loaded handguns, possible methamphetamine packaging materials, ledgers and gang related photos were recovered from the bedroom of the 26-year-old male. Police are requesting he be charged with possession of stolen property, trafficking in stolen property, unlawful possession of a firearm and drug charges with a school zone enhancement.
The 30-year-old male will be charged with possession of stolen property and trafficking in stolen property, as will the 26-year-old female. The older male will also be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police say the residence is known to be associated with gang activity and that both males, who are registered sex offenders, live there.
All told, 12 handguns were recovered, as well as a sawed-off shotgun. Several guns were loaded, police say.
Police also said that property from at least five Grandview and Sunnyside burglaries has been identified and that other recovered items may be possibly identified by owners later.
