CHENEY - Mabton's Trishi Williams took top honors in the javelin at the 1A State track and field meet held in Cheney this past weekend.
Williams' 135-0 throw was well ahead of second place finisher Meka Townsend of Okanogan, who threw the javelin 126-6.
Williams finished seventh in the girls discus with a 101-10 throw. Nia Tauvela of Orting took first place with a 122-3 throw.
In the preliminaries, Williams placed 10th in the girls shot put with a 33-0.50 throw and 13th in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.06. Only the top eight finishers in the preliminaries moved on to finals.
In finals, Mabton's Sara Vasquez finished 10th in the 3200m run, clocking in at 12:32.13. The first place finisher was Maddie Meyers of Northwest, who clocked in at 11:28.81.
Lady Viking Cassandra Madrigal finished 11th in the girls long jump finals with a 15-4 leap. Chewelah's Liz Cobb took top honors with a 17-6 jump.
Mabton's Michael Conradt finished in 14th place in the preliminary round of the boys 110m hurdles with a time of 17.15. Teammate Gus Martinez finished 13th in the boys javelin finals with a throw of 158-11.
