Bomb threat called into high school

GRANDVIEW - Grandview High School was shut down for about an hour and a half yesterday, Thursday, after what sounded like a teenage girl called the office and said, "There's a bomb in the high school and it will go off soon."

Police investigated and found nothing. High school administrators and the police are currently working with the telephone company to obtain the number from which the threat was phoned in. Police noted that a bomb threat was called into Prosser High School at roughly the same time.

Also yesterday, a burglary was reported in the 300 block of Avenue C after the homeowner found a garage door kicked in. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

Yesterday, too, a theft was reported at the Christian thrift store in the 100 block of West Second Street after a donation jar was stolen from the counter.
