Fifteenth District race trimmed to two

WHITE SALMON - John Gotts confirmed this morning his decision to withdraw from the race for the 15th District legislative state house seat.

Gotts, a White Salmon resident, told the Daily Sun News today, Thursday, that he is ending his campaign because of what he calls a "once in a lifetime opportunity" to market an internet software program he has developed.

Gotts said he is moving to Palo Alto, Calif., to meet with a group of investors interested in a program he developed to make using Google's advance search "extremely easy."

Though he has withdrawn from the race, Gotts did so after the county auditor's candidate withdrawal deadline. Gotts, a Democrat, will appear on the Aug. 18 primary ballot, according to Auditor Corky Mattingly.

Gotts, a Democrat, says his name on the ballot should not cause problems for the other Democratic candidate, Donicio Marichalar of Grandview.

"I've informed the media and I wish my Democratic opponent the best," Gotts said. "I hope he wins."
